Introducing the Discovering Goodness®️ Street Defence System for Women

My name is John Bedwany. I’ve trained with grandmasters around the world and have taught martial arts for over 40 years — always with a maniacal focus on Peak Performance and Well-Being across the mental, physical, emotional, and soulful dimensions.

 

I taught my adult daughters martial arts from a young age — and today, they are elegant, empowered women living through their soul speak.

This system is now available to all women. It's simple to learn, internalise and apply — designed to teach you how to:

A fighting mindset allows us to stand strong in the face of challenges and create the outcomes we deserve. A loving mindset aligns us with the true intent of our soul, seeing every situation as an opportunity to create and share goodness. When we build and reinforce these neural pathways — combining courage with compassion — we become capable of responding to life’s tests with passion, not fear, and with unshakable, authentic confidence instead of doubt.

2. Conflict Resolution

Conflict is simply a misalignment of values or expectations. Our framework — Neutralise, Enter, Construct/Defuse, and Exit — gives you the tools to resolve both verbal and physical confrontations. You’ll learn to neutralise tension, engage calmly, and either construct a resolution or defuse a threat. In physical scenarios, we teach effective street defence skills using streetwise martial arts, always with the aim to exit safely and learn from the experience with grace and gratitude.

3. Grab Evasions

If someone can’t grab you, they can’t hurt you. This principle teaches how to redirect or flow out of any grip attempt using small circular movements that reflect the natural energy of the female form. You’ll gain the ability to escape quickly or create space to counter, with minimal effort and maximum efficiency.

4. Fajing

Fajing is the art of explosive energy release. It's a key internal martial arts technique that enables you to deliver explosive power precisely into an attacker’s vulnerable zones. Once mastered, it allows you to channel your entire physical and emotional energy into a single, decisive strike.

5. Silhouette Awareness

Awareness of your body’s silhouette — your outer edge — is essential for effective defence. When you can sense the boundaries of your form, you can learn to deflect attacks subtly, keeping threats at bay while setting up for a rapid and efficient counter. This principle trains spatial intuition and quick, instinctive reactions.

6. Circle of Defence

Attacks can come from nine key directions. The Circle of Defence teaches you how to respond to each angle with the correct positioning and movement. Once internalised, it becomes an elegant, flowing system of energy management — your body instinctively knows where to go, and how to neutralise and defend quickly and effectively.

7. APE and SSA Principles of Defence

APE — Align, Penetrate, Explode — is used during the "Enter" phase of a confrontation. It ensures you are optimally positioned, able to channel power into your opponent, and capable of delivering an explosive response.

SSA — Surprise, Speed, Accuracy — is the delivery method. Surprise unsettles the attacker. Speed overwhelms them. Accuracy ensures you strike the most effective targets. Together, these principles give you the upper hand, allowing your maximum to overcome their minimum.

8. Loaded Weapons

These are strikes designed specifically for the female form — open hand, palm heel, knife hand, elbow, and knee strikes. Each is taught to be used effectively against vital targets, allowing you to neutralise threats quickly and with minimal effort.

9. Practical Applications

Theory is important, but practice makes mastery. You’ll train both solo and in pairs, repeating movements until they become second nature. The goal is not just competence, but confidence — the ability to perform the right action under pressure without hesitation.

We’ll teach you the most effective strike zones on the human body—vulnerabilities that stop an attacker in their tracks. These include soft tissue, nerves and joints that, when hit correctly, give you time to escape or regain control. You’ll learn to strike with accuracy and confidence, using your body’s natural power.

11. Impact Training

When you’re struck, your first instinct is to freeze and assess. That pause can be dangerous. Impact Training rewires that instinct—teaching you to respond with power instead. You’ll learn how to turn a hit into fuel, channelling both physical, mental and emotional strength into your response. This flips the script—from victim to warrior.

12. Everyday Weapons

You don’t need to carry weapons to be armed. Keys, pens, umbrellas, phones, handbags—even your shoes—can all be used to defend yourself. We’ll show you how to turn everyday items into strategic tools to increase your safety and strike with leverage, speed and control.

There are a handful of attacks most likely to happen in a street confrontation. We focus on teaching you to recognise, avoid and respond to these with the 14 core principles of the Discovering Goodness Street Defence System for Women. Our aim is not just theory—it’s preparedness.

14. Stay Away From Situations

The best defence is not needing one. You’ll be trained to spot risky situations before they escalate and avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. From body language to spatial awareness, we’ll show you what to watch for, what to avoid, and how to trust your instincts. Prevention is power.

Introducing the Discovering Goodness®️ Virtual Mind Coach

Additional to the Street Defence system knowledge that we will share with you, you will also have access to the Discovering Goodness®️ Virtual Mind Coach application.

Imagine a virtual mind coach for elite athletes designed to help you reach consistent Peak Performance whilst maintaining abundant health and well-being. That’s the Discovering Goodness®️ Virtual Mind Coach application.

The Discovering Goodness®️ knowledge in this application (which I call DGAs, Discovering Goodness®️ Activations) is based on the sciences of Neuroplasticity, Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Martial Arts Black Belt philosophy that when internalised daily has proven to dramatically improve the lives of those that choose to be the best version of themselves.

Each student of the Discovering Goodness Street Defence System for Women will also have access to this knowledge at no additional charge.

The Science Behind the Right Thoughts and Positive Emotions

Science has now absolutely proven through mountains of research that “Your Thoughts” directly impact your actions and the outcomes of your actions.

 

In 2005, the National Science Foundation published an article summarising research on human thoughts per day. It was found that the average person has between 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those thousands of thoughts, 80% were negative, and 95% were exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before. Meaning we process life through negative thinking.

Further, Harvard Medical School published a paper on Emotional Intelligence that states, "Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to identify and regulate our own emotions, to recognise the emotions of other people and feel empathy toward them, and to use these abilities to communicate effectively and build healthy, productive relationships with others. Healthy, productive relationships are not only key to our psychological well-being, they’re also vital to physical health."

If this is indeed the case, then one would assume if I fill my thoughts with Positive Knowledge (the Right Thoughts), then it would be logical that my actions would therefore be the most productive in each and every moment (the Right Actions) with the outcome being Natural Peak Performance and an Authentically Happy Life.
